Dr. Herring will provide you with various options, such as qEEG (Brainmapping), Biofeedback, Neurofeedback, Heart Rate Variability, Psychophysiological Assessment, etc..

These treatments are appealing to patients because they are non-invasive. These treatments reduce or eliminate the need for medication, and may  provide an alternative treatment for patients who suffer from severe side-effects of medications.

CLASSICAL THERAPIES

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy is a “global therapy". Psychodynamic therapy attempts to help the patients find patterns in their emotions, thoughts, and beliefs in order to gain insight into their current self. These patterns are often found to begin in the patients’ childhood, since psychodynamic theory holds that early life experiences are extremely influential in psychological development and functioning as an adult.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy

CBT aims to change our thought patterns, the beliefs we may or may not know we hold, our attitudes, and ultimately our behavior in order to help us face our difficulties and more effectively strive towards our goals.

CBT is a hands-on approach that requires both the therapist and the patient to be invested in the process and willing to actively participate. The therapist and patient work together as a team to identify the problems the patient is facing, come up with new strategies for addressing them, and thinking up positive solutions.

INTEGRATIVE THERAPIES

FDA Approved

qEEG (Brainmapping)

Are you looking forward to achieving your goals in a state in which you can perform to the maximum of your ability, characterized by subjective feelings of confidence, effortlessness and total concentration on the task?

Quantitative EEG (qEEG) is a method of analyzing the electrical activity of the brain to derive quantitative patterns that may correspond to diagnostic information and/or cognitive deficits.

TMS

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, is an FDA approved treatment for depression. The technique involves the same principles as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).The prefrontal area of the brain is stimulated to produce neurotransmitters that treat depression. TMS has the same effect as anti-depressant medication but without medication side effects.

Neuro feedback

Neurofeedback (NFB), also called neurotherapy or neurobiofeedback, is a type of biofeedback that uses real-time displays of brain activity—most commonly electroencephalography (EEG), to teach self-regulation of brain function.

Biofeedback

Biofeedback is a technique you can use to learn to control your body's functions, such as your heart rate. With biofeedback, you're connected to electrical sensors that help you receive information about your body and learn to control your heart rate, breathing, and muscle tension.
